Former Virginia Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax and his estranged wife, Cerina Fairfax, were found dead early Thursday morning in what authorities have determined to be a murder-suicide at their Annandale, Virginia, residence. Police responded to a 911 call from the couple's 16-year-old son shortly after midnight, leading to the discovery of the two deceased individuals inside the home.
The incident marks a tragic conclusion to a contentious period for the Fairfax family, occurring just weeks before Justin Fairfax was legally mandated to move out of the $1 million marital home by the end of April. This order was part of ongoing divorce proceedings between the couple, who had been separated for two years but continued to reside under the same roof.
