An offshore oil and natural gas platform, identified as Platform Habitat, caught fire Monday off the coast of Southern California. Emergency crews are actively responding to the incident, which occurred near Carpinteria, off Santa Barbara.
All 26 workers on board Platform Habitat were successfully evacuated and rescued from the blaze. Officials have stated there is no immediate threat to the environment from the fire at this time.
