New claims from a longtime UFO researcher are intensifying public debate over whether the U.S. government secretly possesses not only crashed alien spacecraft but also the bodies of multiple extraterrestrial species. Hal Puthoff, a physicist and former CIA-funded researcher with ties to several government-connected UFO investigations, made these significant claims during a recent appearance on “The Diary of a CEO” podcast alongside documentary filmmaker Dan Farah.
"People who have been involved in recoveries have said there are at least four types." — Hal Puthoff, Physicist and Former CIA-Funded Researcher
Puthoff stated that individuals involved in alleged UFO recovery operations informed him the U.S. government has encountered at least four distinct forms of extraterrestrial life connected to recovered craft. "People who have been involved in recoveries have said there are at least four types," Puthoff explained during the interview. He added, "Four separate types. Now I have not had direct access to that but I believe the people who I talked to.” While Puthoff did not personally identify these alleged species, fellow UFO researcher Eric Davis has previously suggested these beings fall into four categories commonly discussed within UFO circles: Nordics, Grays, Reptilians, and Insectoids.
According to descriptions prevalent in UFO lore, the "Nordics" are said to resemble humans most closely. The "Grays," often depicted as short, hairless beings with large black eyes, have become a deeply ingrained image in popular UFO culture. The alleged "Reptilians" are described as humanoid lizard-like creatures, while "Insectoids" are said to resemble giant praying mantises.
Puthoff also offered a speculative explanation for the observed UFO phenomena, suggesting that extraterrestrials might intentionally allow humans to witness their presence. “Given the level of quality of their technology, if they didn’t want to be seen, we wouldn’t be seeing them,” he theorized. “So it seems like there’s evidence that, for whatever reason, they’re wanting to be seen.”
These comments arrive amidst a period of escalating public attention surrounding unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs), often referred to as UFOs. This heightened interest has been particularly noticeable following increased government transparency efforts initiated under President Donald Trump’s administration. The Pentagon recently released another batch of declassified UFO-related documents as part of President Trump’s administration’s PURSUE disclosure initiative, further fueling public speculation about what federal agencies might know regarding unexplained aerial encounters.
The latest claims by Puthoff also build upon previous testimony from former intelligence official David Grusch. In 2023, Grusch informed Congress that the federal government possessed "non-human biologics" allegedly recovered from downed craft, as reported by Fox News. Dan Farah, whose documentary “Age of Disclosure” extensively covers alleged UFO crash retrieval programs, asserted that multiple senior intelligence officials interviewed for his film confirmed the existence of recovered non-human technology and bodies. “A number of the people I interviewed in my film went on the record saying there have been dozens of crashed craft of non-human origin over the years,” Farah stated.
Despite the sensational nature of these allegations and the growing number of individuals coming forward, no publicly verified evidence has emerged proving the existence of alien bodies or extraterrestrial spacecraft in U.S. government custody. Skeptics continue to argue that many claims within the UFO disclosure movement rely heavily on anonymous testimony, unverifiable insider accounts, and speculative interpretations rather than concrete physical proof.
Nevertheless, public and governmental interest in the topic has expanded significantly in recent years. Former military personnel, intelligence officials, and government contractors are increasingly stepping forward, claiming the federal government possesses far more information about UAPs than it has publicly disclosed. UFO researcher Kent Heckenlively cautioned that if extraterrestrial life truly exists, humanity may not fully comprehend the implications of direct contact. “Maybe there are good reasons to stay apart from each other,” Heckenlively warned. “Maybe they have such different views of morality that any contact should be extremely limited.”
