President Donald Trump launched a pointed two-part critique of Fox News on Sunday, utilizing his Truth Social platform to demand the network cease providing airtime to Democrats he accused of disseminating unchallenged falsehoods on air. The initial post, published Sunday morning, targeted Representative Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), who had just concluded an appearance on the cable news giant. President Trump contended that the congressman navigated the interview without encountering any meaningful resistance from the host.
"You could listen to FoxNews all day long, absolutely devour it, but then, when you hear SLEAZEBAGS, like Congressman Ro Khanna, ‘a wolf in sheep’s clothing,’ LIE, LIE, LIE, AND LIE AGAIN, without any pushback, or competent rebuttal from an anchor, in this case, Jacqui Heinrich, the entire Common Sense dialogue that has been going on all day at Fox is completely obliterated!" — President Donald Trump, Truth Social Post
Approximately ninety minutes later, President Trump returned to Truth Social with a second, more direct post, this time explicitly naming Fox News anchor Jacqui Heinrich. He held Heinrich responsible for what he described as a failure to mount a competent challenge to Khanna’s statements during the segment. President Trump argued that the interview did not occur in isolation, but rather, in his view, "obliterated" everything the network had diligently built throughout the day. "You could listen to FoxNews all day long, absolutely devour it, but then, when you hear SLEAZEBAGS, like Congressman Ro Khanna, ‘a wolf in sheep’s clothing,’ LIE, LIE, LIE, AND LIE AGAIN, without any pushback, or competent rebuttal from an anchor, in this case, Jacqui Heinrich, the entire Common Sense dialogue that has been going on all day at Fox is completely obliterated!" President Trump wrote.
The President's criticism extended beyond Heinrich and Khanna. He expanded his indictment to include additional names, broadening his dissatisfaction with the network’s guest booking decisions. Comedian Bill Maher and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York also drew sharp words from President Trump, who questioned the rationale behind Fox extending a platform to either individual. "Why would Fox put SCUM like this on, or others, such as Low Rated Bill Maher, who gains ‘credibility’ by constant referral to him as though he were a Liberal source of ‘Wisdom,’ or very Low IQ Hakeem Jeffries, who considers the Supreme Court ‘illegitimate,’ and probably hates our Country," President Trump stated.
From there, President Trump articulated what he perceives as a structural issue within the network: a cycle where solid daytime coverage is negated the moment a Democrat appears on screen. "No matter how ‘Fair and Balanced’ the day’s News at Fox may be, the end result is destroyed by professional Liars, Conmen, and Liberal, Crooked Politicians," President Trump wrote. He then directly linked this frustration to the sentiments of Republican voters regarding the channel, issuing a warning that the network's booking choices carry significant electoral consequences. "This is why MAGA Republicans, who are actually close to 100% of the Party, hate Fox, despite the wonderful contributions made by so many of their great anchors and commentators. Hard to win Elections like this!" President Trump concluded.
The groundwork for these stronger criticisms had been laid in his earlier post that same morning, though without specifically naming Heinrich. In that initial message, President Trump argued that Khanna should be entirely barred from Fox bookings unless an anchor demonstrably capable of challenging his assertions was present. "The Sleazebag, Radical Left Congressman from the failed State of California, Ro Khanna, should not be allowed on FoxNews unless you have an ‘anchor’ who is capable of disputing his lies, one after another, and closing down his FAKE (Bullshit!) narrative," President Trump wrote.
Khanna’s on-air remarks concerning American steel manufacturing also elicited a direct response from President Trump. He accused the California Democrat of attempting to credit his party for an industrial resurgence that President Trump unequivocally attributes to his own tariff agenda. "This morning he tried, on behalf of the Dumacrats, to take credit for the Steel Industry pouring back into the U.S., knowing full well that the Dumbs virtually destroyed it, and I SAVED IT, through strong Tariffs (PLUS!)," President Trump asserted. President Trump concluded the post with a cautionary note regarding the potential ramifications of Democratic electoral success, framing the current economic situation as one his opponents would dismantle if given the opportunity. "We can’t allow the Dumacrats to take credit for this. If elected, they will fully destroy our thriving, and now very respected, Nation. I will NOT let that happen!!!" he added.
As of Sunday afternoon, neither Fox News nor Jacqui Heinrich had issued any public response to President Trump’s posts. The President's remarks highlight ongoing tensions between a prominent political figure and a major news outlet, particularly concerning the perceived fairness and balance of media coverage during political discourse.
