Her boyfriend, Philipp Ostermann, 37, a German national, has been charged with two racially aggravated public order offenses and an additional public order offense related to the same incident.

The alleged confrontation reportedly took place around 7:30 p.m. involving a 34-year-old woman and her family, including two young children. According to British Transport Police, the alleged victim was entering the station area with family members, one with a child in a stroller, when the altercation began. Authorities allege that Ostermann initiated the incident by shouting racial abuse at the woman and her family. The situation escalated into a physical confrontation.
During the alleged altercation, police claim that Rein Lively grabbed the victim's hair. Concurrently, additional verbal abuse was reportedly exchanged. British Transport Police further alleged that Ostermann displayed what he claimed to be pepper spray and sprayed it in the direction of the woman and her family. "The man then began shouting racial abuse at the victim and her family," a British Transport Police spokesperson stated, detailing the allegations. Police also reported that Rein Lively shouted abuse and made lewd gestures before both parties ultimately departed the scene.
The case has garnered significant attention due to Rein Lively's public profile within conservative political circles. She is widely known for her vocal support of President Donald Trump and her role as the founder of America First PR, a firm described as "anti-woke" that specializes in promoting conservative political messaging and media campaigns. Rein Lively previously gained national attention in the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic for filming herself destroying face masks inside a retail store in Arizona. She has also publicly discussed adopting a "MAGA look," referring to cosmetic procedures and styling choices associated with supporters of President Trump.
Ostermann is identified as an associate director at Aequita, a private equity firm based in Munich with offices in Germany, Japan, and South Carolina.
The charges against Rein Lively and Ostermann are currently moving through the British legal system. Neither individual has publicly entered a plea regarding the allegations. The first court hearing for the case is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at Westminster Magistrates’ Court. British authorities have not indicated that additional charges are forthcoming at this time. The legal proceedings will determine the facts surrounding the incident and the culpability of the accused under British law.
The incident highlights the complexities that can arise when individuals with public profiles face legal challenges, particularly when those individuals are associated with prominent political movements. The judicial process in London will now proceed to examine the evidence and hear arguments from both the prosecution and the defense.
