Federal authorities have arrested a former Central Intelligence Agency official, David Rush, on suspicion of stealing a substantial amount of gold bars. Prosecutors allege the ex-government official unlawfully took approximately $40 million worth of gold from the agency.
Reports indicate that 300 gold bars, valued at $40 million, were discovered and seized from Rush's residence. In addition to the gold, federal agents also reportedly confiscated cash and luxury watches, including Rolexes, from his home.
Further accusations suggest Rush also falsely claimed to be a Navy pilot. The investigation into the alleged theft and other charges is ongoing. This is a developing story and will be updated as details emerge.
